Silicone tapes

Silicone tapes are equipped with a silicone adhesive layer and are used in applications involving high temperatures or substrates that are typically difficult to bond, such as silicone-treated or adhesive-resistant surfaces. These tapes combine high shear strength with reliable adhesion under demanding conditions. Would you like to learn more about the applications and benefits of silicone tapes? Silicone tapes with silicone adhesive

Silicone tapes are equipped with a silicone adhesive layer and are used in applications where conventional adhesive systems are insufficient. These tapes perform exceptionally well at high temperatures and provide reliable adhesion to low surface energy or silicone-treated substrates.

Due to these properties, silicone tapes are widely used in industrial processes, technical manufacturing and specialised applications.

Performance profile of silicone tapes

Silicone tapes are characterised by the following performance profile:

  • Good initial adhesion on difficult substrates

  • Very high shear strength

  • Excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents

  • High internal strength and good ageing resistance

  • Resistant to very high temperatures

  • Suitable for powder-coated and low surface energy surfaces

This combination of properties makes silicone tapes highly reliable in demanding environments.

Adhesion and application behaviour

A key characteristic of silicone adhesive tapes is their relatively low initial tack. Immediately after application, the tape can still be repositioned or removed with relative ease. Over time, the adhesion continues to build.

When applied correctly, the maximum bond strength is typically achieved after approximately 72 hours. This makes silicone tapes particularly suitable for controlled assembly processes.
