Our clear, high-shear epoxy adhesive for static loads is fast-curing and flexible, for extended life in all conditions. It's designed to expand and contract to meet changing environmental conditions. When using Duo-Pak (DP) adhesives, consider 3M dispensing equipment as a convenient tool for accurately measuring, mixing, and dispensing adhesive. It provides a strong, permanent bond, even under vibration and shock. There's no more versatile construction epoxy adhesive than 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100 Plus. This epoxy adhesive works on a variety of substrates, including metals, ceramics and glass, wood, and many plastics. The low viscosity allows for easy application, self-leveling, and makes it highly suitable for filleting and potting. The adhesive combines high shear strength, peel and impact performance with good flexibility, making it ideal for a wide range of applications within the transportation, specialty vehicle, general industrial, sporting goods, construction, and consumer goods industries. The adhesive reaches working strength in approximately 20 minutes and is fully cured within 48 hours (at 22°C/72°F). Understanding Epoxy Adhesives Epoxy adhesives, including 5-minute epoxy, belong to the class of adhesives known as "Structural Adhesives," which also includes polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate, and other adhesives. Epoxy adhesives are formulated as liquid reactive polymers that react chemically when mixed. They then harden into a solid plastic material. Once the two components are mixed to the specified ratio, the curing process begins, with a limited working time during which the adhesive can be applied and the two surfaces brought into the desired position.
