Foam tape in practice

Foam tape is utterly suitable for hanging things up, including. mirrors, photographs, advertisements and name plates. The tape is clean and easy to use. Foam tape also offers good heat insulation and vibration absorption. This foam tape can be used in housings/casings as well as sealing/packaging to avoid dust or damp and to reduce noise.

With a thickness of 0.8 mm to 3.2 mm, it is also often used as a spacer or as thermal insulation, sealing strips etc.

Strength is determined by the weight per M3

The specific weight per M3 largely determines how strongly the tape can resist delaminating (breaking).
TAPIR has processing techniques to die-cut foam tape. Making a die cut using a "normal" die-cutting machine is difficult to carry out, but we have thought up a solution for this.
However, the heavier the foam tape the more difficult it is to punch into. Please keep this in mind if there are larger uneven imperfections in the surfaces.

We have the possibility to test the tensile strength.

Temperature resistance

In general, foam tapes don't show good resistance to high temperatures (60°C to 80°C). Tapes with foam backing are often used in the advertising and booth construction world.

The RK8877 black has a higher temperature, weather and UV resistance and can be removed cleanly. However, it is advisable to combine this tape with an adhesive or sealant for outdoor applications.

Foamtape of schuimtape in de praktijk

Schuimtape is uitermate geschikt voor het ophangen van o.a. spiegels, foto’s, reclameborden en naamplaatjes. De schuimtape is schoon en makkelijk in het gebruik.
De schuimtape biedt ook een goede isolatie en absorptie van trillingen. Schuimtape wordt ook vaak dubbelzijdig foam-tape genoemd en kan worden toegepast in behuizingen maar ook als afdichting/pakking tegen stof of vocht en om geluid te reduceren.

Met een dikte van 0.8mm tot 3.2mm wordt een schuimtape ook vaak gebruikt als afstandhouder of als een thermische isolatie, tochtstrip, etc.

Sterkte wordt bepaald door gewicht per M3

Het soortelijk gewicht per M3 bepaalt in grote mate hoe sterk de schuimtape bestand is tegen delamineren (breken).
TAPIR beschikt over bewerkingstechnieken om schuimtape te stansen. Het maken van een stansdeel is met een “normale” stansmachine niet goed uit te voeren, maar daar hebben wij een oplossing voor bedacht.
Echter hoe zwaarder de schuimtape is hoe minder deze in te drukken is. Hou hier rekening mee wanneer er grotere oneffenheden in de ondergronden zitten.

Wij beschikken over de mogelijkheid om de treksterkte te testen.

Temperatuur bestendigheid

Over het algemeen zijn schuimtapes niet goed bestand tegen hoge temperaturen (60°C tot 80°C). Tapes met een schuimdrager worden veel in de reclame- en standbouwwereld gebruikt.

De RK8877 zwart heeft een hogere temperatuurs-, weers- en UV-bestendigheid en is schoon verwijderbaar. Toch is het raadzaam om bij buitentoepassingen deze tape te combineren met een lijm of kit.
