Tapir RK 150 Aluminum foil tape

The RK 150 aluminum tape is provided with a protective sheet, this protective sheet prevents the tape on the roll from sticking to itself.
Normally, single-sided adhesive tapes have a silicone coating so that the adhesive layer of the tape itself does not adhere to the layer underneath when it is on the roll. This coating is not on the RK 150 tape, instead we used a removable backing.

Aluminum tapes are often used during the assembly of air ducts, because it is the intention there that no air leakage takes place. If you would use an ordinary single-sided tape here, the layers will not adhere perfectly airtight to each other and leakage will occur over time.
By removing the protective sheet during/before applying the layers on top of each other, the adhesive layer can adhere perfectly to itself.
