Mixing nozzles
When using two-component adhesives, the adhesive consists of two components which need to be mixed in the correct proportions. The mixing of the two components takes place in the mixing nozzle. The mixing in the nozzle causes a chemical reaction which causes the adhesive to harden. As a result, the two bonded parts remain strongly adhered to each other. Tapir has several 3M mixing nozzles in its range. Read more
Using a mixing nozzle for glue gun It is relatively easy to install a mixing tube.
Install the adhesive in the glue gun and remove the cap on the front of the cartridge from the two-component adhesive. Keep this cap safe, as you will need to replace it at the end when you have finished with the adhesive. The nozzle clicks or twists where the cap of the two-component adhesive was. It is a good idea to test the adhesive on a piece of paper or cardboard before use. After using the glue gun, remove the mixing nozzle and replace the cap the two-component adhesive. Next time it is best to use a new mixing nozzle.
How does a mixing nozzle work?
A mixing nose is a nozzle with a special structure inside. This structure can be compared to the profile of thread on a screw, but other structures are also possible. All mixing tubes ensure that the adhesives are well bonded, so that the necessary chemical reaction takes place. The nozzle for these glue guns not only makes it easy to mix adhesives, but also simplifies application. The nozzle has a small opening through which the adhesive can be applied with precision.
