Tape primer
Tape primer is used when tape does not bond well enough to difficult substrates. Think of PP, PE, EPDM, powder coating or other low surface energy materials. With the right primer, adhesion and bond reliability improve significantly.

When should you use tape primer?
Does tape struggle to bond to plastic or coated surfaces? A tape primer can help. Primer creates a better bonding base on low surface energy materials or difficult top layers.
Typical situations
- PP, PE, EPDM and other difficult plastics
- Powder-coated or adhesion-critical surfaces
- Outdoor or industrial conditions requiring extra security
- Cases where the tape itself is suitable, but the substrate limits adhesion
Recommended sequence
Clean the surface first with isopropyl alcohol. Then choose the right combination of primer and double sided tape. For structural applications, VHB tape is often relevant.
