What is ACX plus

Constructive adhesive bonds are important in any industry and can cause many problems. Many applications use advanced materials with special structures and properties that must be maintained. Often dissimilar materials need to be bonded - for example aluminum to steel, steel to glass, decorative glass to composite material, etc. The traditional mechanical fasteners such as rivets, welds, screws or liquid glue may not be suitable for this or even damage these materials.
Then there is a need for our strong adhesive tapes: tesa®ACXplus - an acrylic foam tape with very special adhesive properties.

Bond strength: for a strong, long-lasting bond – even on materials with different surface characteristics

tesa® ACXplus is characterized by its high bond strength. Loads such as wind, snow and the permanent load of glued components are no problem for tesa® ACXplus.
tesa® ACXplus has a high bond strength to materials with different surface characteristics because the acrylic bonding system used provides optimum moisture management and chemically adapts to the bonded surfaces. In addition, the thickness of the tape can be adjusted to compensate for rough and uneven surfaces. The result is permanent contact and complete sealing of the bonded surfaces. This ensures a high bond strength that lasts for decades.

Weather and temperature resistance

Finland or Arizona, inside or outside – constructive connections are everywhere. Different weather conditions such as rain, snow, penetrating UV light or moisture and very low or very high temperatures – a constructive connection must withstand many external influences.
When materials are joined with traditional mechanical fasteners, such as screws or rivets, they can be prone to corrosion, which causes damage leading to high repair costs.
tesa® ACXplus acrylic foam tapes are highly resistant to temperatures and different weather conditions. The main reason for this is the oxidation resistance of the fully saturated carbon chain that forms the basis for the acrylates used in tesa®ACXplus. Furthermore, the special chemical curing process ensures excellent resistance to temperature.
The result is a superior bond with excellent resistance to temperature, weather, UV and chemical influences.
