Corona Pre-Treatment: Improved Adhesion
Corona pre-treatment is a process used by Tapir Tapes to activate the surface of materials and improve the adhesion of subsequent layers such as adhesives, inks, or coatings.
How It Works
A high-frequency electrical discharge (corona) alters the surface tension of the tape material, making it more receptive to bonding. This technique is ideal for non-polar films such as PE, PP or PET.
Benefits
- Better adhesion of self-adhesive layers
- Improved ink or coating anchoring
- Enables lamination on low-energy surfaces
- Environmentally friendly and non-contact
