Facelift Tape: A cheap and fast solution to roll back the years quickly and temporarily.

Television programmes Chateau Meiland and RTL Boulevard recently paid attention to the facelift taping trend. 

For people with sagging skin on the face, facelift tape is a product that can instantly give you a tighter look. The product works by retracting the skin to give it a more youthful appearance.

Facelift tape is widely used in the entertainment industry for people who need to emanate a younger or youthful version of their character. Nowadays, this non-surgical facelift can easily be used at home by anyone.

How the face lift tape works;

Facelift taping concerns the placing of two specialised pieces of tape on the cheeks, at the top of the ear or on both sides of the face. An elastic band is attached to the adhesive tape and pulls the user's skin tight with the cord. The two elastic bands are connected to each other on the top or back of the head.
This pulls the skin back and lifts the skin on the cheeks and around the chin.
The Facelift tape is easily hidden by the ears and behind the hair. The tape itself is transparent and the elastic is often available in different colours so that it can be camouflaged in the hairline. 

Facelift tape is a common product that can be purchased online, or from beauty retailers. It is generally easy to remove and apply. It is designed for customers who want to avoid facelift surgery.
It is also possible to use more than one set of rejuvenation tape, so that both the skin around the eyes and the jawline can be tightened. 

Does it help?

A positive aspect of facelift tape is that it reduces lines and wrinkles and creates a smooth jawline. It is especially effective for wrinkles around the eyes and can make people appear younger without the use of potentially dangerous or expensive facial treatments.

Opponents of facelift tape claim that the tape is just a temporary solution that doesn't really address the problems behind ageing skin.

For example, skin ages due to a lack of collagen and slower cell renewal. To really turn back time, you have to tackle these problems at the source. For this, you will really have to opt for more expensive plastic surgery. Facelift tape only offers a temporary age-reducing solution. 

Tip

When using facelift tape, it can be tempting to tighten the tape until the lines and wrinkles have disappeared completely. The problem with this method is that it will make the face look fake, causing an unnatural and oblique eye or mouth to appear.

When you pull the strings of the tape you have to make sure that it only smoothes the wrinkles around the eyes and not the eye or mouth. If you do this, you risk the feeling of constriction and headaches.

On the internet, you can find many different videos and DIYs in which all kinds of different types and sizes of tapes are used and abused. Even the well-known duct tape (linen tape) is mercilessly attached to the skin.
We strongly advise against this and wish the people who want to try it anyway a lot of strength when it comes to the removal of skin! (which is probably an advantage that you immediately no longer suffer from hair growth in these places in the coming weeks).
