Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2

Tapir Tapes once again sponsors the solar team from Twente

Red shift

This year we also do our bit for Solar Team Twente

From 7 to 15 October, Solar Team Twente, together with the other two Dutch solo teams, will be on display daily during the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge at NPO 1 in the programme 'Oranje Boven, Down Under' (Orange Up, Down Under). With this programme, the NOS and the VPRO want to showcase the innovative strength of the Netherlands in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge as a national event. The Netherlands has already won several times in previous years and in Australia, the slogan "Take On The Dutch" is now trending.

On 8 October 2017, Solar Team Twente will start the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, the prestigious race for cars that run on solar energy. Together with more than fifty other international participants, Solar Team Twente will drive the solar car 3000 kilometres across the Australian outback. The race has four different classes. The Twente solar team is participating in the Challenger Class, the Formula 1 class for solar cars.

Solar Team Twente consists of nineteen students from Saxion and the University of Twente. They are making their dream come true: winning the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in October 2017. In addition to the students, Solar Team Twente consists of a strong network of innovative partners. Top-class sports are practised together and the fastest solar car in the world is built.
